Who we are

This policy explains how The4thStack (“we”, “us”) collects and uses personal information when you visit this website, subscribe to our newsletter, download a resource, register for a webinar or contact us. For any privacy question or request, use our Data Request page or choose Privacy Requests on our Contact page.

What we collect

  • Newsletter: email address, optional first name, topic and frequency choices, and a record of your consent (time, wording and page).
  • Resource downloads and webinar registrations: your name, business email, company, job title and the other details shown on the form. If you tick the box naming a sponsor, those details are shared with that sponsor.
  • Contact form: the details you submit. Attachments are emailed to our team and are not kept on the web server.
  • Comments: what WordPress collects when you comment, if comments are enabled.
  • StackBot assistant: your question and the page you asked from. If an AI provider is enabled, these are sent to that provider to generate an answer.
  • Security: an irreversible hash of your IP address is used briefly to limit abuse of forms. Raw IP addresses are not stored by these features.

Analytics and advertising

Analytics and advertising tools load only if you allow them in Cookie settings. The categories you can accept or decline are described in our Cookie Policy, and you can change your choice at any time.

Service providers

We use service providers to host this website, deliver email and run our newsletter. If StackBot is connected to an AI provider, your question is sent to that provider to generate an answer. Providers may use your data only to deliver their service to us.

Retention

Unconfirmed newsletter sign-ups are deleted automatically after 7 days. Contact messages are kept for the period set by the site administrator.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or port your data, and to opt out of certain processing. Use our Data Request page to make a request.
